Special Order Corsets - What Are They?

A special ordered corset is a service we provide to make a corset to your specific needs.

We offer special order corsets for multiple reasons:

 

1. You want to use a special fabric.

If you would like a corset made with a special fabric, please contact macorsetiere@macorsetiere.com with the request before placing the order. We ask that you contact us before placing the order to confirm that the fabric is (1) something we can use in a corset, is compatible with our sewing machines, and is within our skill range, and (2) is attainable/is able to be found on the market. If you already have a fabric in your possession you would like to use, then only number (1) applies from above.

Please note that you (the customer) would be responsible for the shipping cost of getting the fabric to Ma Corsetière.

PLEASE NOTE: If the fabric is the only aspect of the corset you would like customized, and the corset design and size still remain a standardized Ma Corsetière corset, you will not be charged for the special order charge. The only exception to this is if your fabric is very difficult to work with, it will still fall under a special order due to the extra care the seamstress must put into the garment. This will be decided by the head designer at Ma Corsetière within your email correspondence before your order is placed. Thank you for your understanding.

 

2. You would like a special designed corset different from the designs Ma Corsetière offers:

To make a new pattern from scratch is a lengthy process. A fitting may be required to check the pattern and fit, as well as make any adjustments or further changes. You (the customer) would be responsible for any shipping charges of mock-up corsets being sent back and forth between fittings. Please contact macorsetiere@macorsetiere.com with your inquiry on the corset design you are interested in before placing your order. That way, you and the head designer at Ma Corsetière can work together to create your perfect corset and establish realistic expectations before the transaction is confirmed. You will receive a detailed fashion sketch of your design before the corset is made. Any further changes can be made within the fitting(s).

 

Fittings

If you are located in Austin, TX or are willing to travel for your fitting(s), you may be able to receive a fitting in person. If you are not an experienced corset wearer, we offer virtual fittings through some type of video call service so the seamstress can see it on your body and help you make adjustments. The corset mock-up would arrive with thorough instructions and explanations to help the fitting process move along smoothly.

Disclaimer: Before placing a special order such as this one, please understand that designing a new corset from scratch is complex and can be difficult. It is highly possible that multiple fittings may be required to get the corset to be the perfect fit.  Your patience and cooperation is appreciated throughout the process of perfecting the corset.
